Ribbon & Twine

Hello....it's December!! which means its a new challenge at Crafter's Companion. As you can see from the title this months theme is Ribbon and Twine. Here is a little inspiration for you....
I decided to make a tag, which was super quick and super easy, so I will definitely be making some more of these for the special gifts this christmas. I started of by making the tag itself using some kraft card and the largest Die'sire Scalloped Tag. Next i added some frantage and wrapped some bakers twine around the tag.
Next I decorated the tag with the small Die'sire rose quilling die, Die'sire snowflakes, and small Die'sire Ivy die. Finally I threaded some ribbon through the tag and added a bow.

So as the saying goes you've got to be in it to win it!! For more details, rules and more inspiration you need to go HERE you will also find the link to add your entry. Good luck!!

Bye for now...

Sweet Treats Gingerbread House

Hello!! I hope everyone has had a great weekend, I am here today to share a little gift that I made for a friend of mine, now I know that she has received it I can share it with you.

As many of you know Crafter's Companion released some new embossing boards recently and they are quite simply AMAZING!!. I have adapted the birdhouse on the Sweet Things Board to become a Gingerbread House and here is what I came up with....
I used some kraft card stock to make the house itself, the board really does make it easy.
I decorated the roof with crackle paint, diamond sparkles and some gems which I thought looked just like sweets.
I also used the corresponding cd rom Sweet Treats to print some backing paper and cut out these sweets which I also added some spray and sparkle to.
I glued some hook and loop tape to one side of the roof so it can be opened like a box and as you can see added a couple of sweet treats.
I trimmed the house and top of the roof with some bakers twine and made a base for the house to stand on. I finally finished it all off with some wadding and more diamond sparkles for the snow. I die cut some Die'sire Fir Trees which I also decorated with the backing paper this time I used a small circle punch to make the sweets smaller. The cute little gingerbread man and sentiment are both freebie stamps which came with the latest Crafter's Inspiration. Here are a couple more pics....
Thank you for stopping by today, feel free to leave me a comment, I love to read them :0)

Bye for now

Winter Faerie Poppets

Good evening all, I am here today to share one of the samples that I made for the latest Crafter's Companionrelease. The extremely talented Christine Haworth has produced yet more beautiful artwork and the time Crafter's Companion have the Winter Faerie Poppets.

This sample I used some scented bags which I picked up cheap from Asda. I printed three images from the fabric companion section of the cd rom and shrunk them right down. I printed them all onto Fabric transfer paper. I emptied the bags of the stuffing and ironed the images onto the bags then re-stuffed them. Here are some pics...

I also made a gift box with some centura card stock and papers from the cd rom and added a acetate window.

I was quite happy with the end result, I think they would make a great gift for somebody :0)

Just a thought away

Hellloooo!! I hope you are well and enjoying this summer weather we're having!?! I know it isn't to everyone's liking but I love it!!
Today I have a card to share using a new stamp that I brought from Katy Sue Designs and coloured with my trusty Spectrum Noir Pens

The stamp is from the Simpler Times range drawn by Elisabeth Bell and is called Just a thought away ....isn't it gorgeous!
To make the card I used some First Edition papers which was an 8x8 pad called Rose Garden, I brought this earlier this year at the NEC from the Which Craft stall. The image was stamped onto some Neenah card and as I mentioned earlier coloured with my Spectrum Noir pens. The frame which the image is on is a die called Circle&Flower stitch by Marianne designs which you can by here you can also find the small flowers there as well.  The larger flower is made using my favourite Quilling Die'Sire dies to make the flowers I used the stamen, lace flower and small rose dies. The sentiment also comes with the image stamp :0) With a few finishing touches with ribbon and gems the card is complete.
Here is a couple of close ups of the image along with a list of all the pens that I used...

Hair- CT2, GB10 & GB8

Skin- TN3, TN2, FS9 & TN1

Dress- PP1, PP3 & PP5

Apron- EB1 & EB2

Hair flower and Ribbons- PP1, PP3 & PP5

Trunk & Bucket- EB5, GB10 & GB8

Apples- DR7, DR6, CR11 & CR9

Grass- DG1, DG2 & DG4

Teddy- GB8, EB2 & EB1

Cat- TN2 & TN1

Sky- LY1, LY2, PP1 IB1 & blender

Sun- LY1, OR1 & blender

I think this would make a lovely card to give to a friend....which incidentally is this months theme over at Spectrum Noir you can find all the details along with the rules and the place to enter just HERE ....GOOD LUCK if you decide to join in :0)

I simply printed the box onto some Centura pearl card cut out and assembled. :0)
I also added a topper which I had shrunk the page down to a5 size so they were small enough for the box, and a sentiment.

Next is a card I made from the Christmas cd.

This is one of the card companions, and some backing paper to match...a nice, quick and simple card :0)
